"Arch HAB" : Smart habitat environmentally friendly with the ecosystem. #SmartCities

I usually like to mix my passions, for instance I like to practice triathlon while I am creating or designing a new concept simultaneously.

Today I decided to run 9 km while mentally creating the blog to explain the design I am currently working on "Arch HAB"

I get the inspiration for the project while watching the recently created Las Vegas ferris wheel, perhaps the tallest in the entire world.

I just imagine the ferris wheel in a slightly different way, I imagine one inner circle inside the main circle, keeping the main circle fixed.

While the inner circle was mobile in order to feed the fixed points of the main wheel. In addition I decided to use a segment of the circle Instead the entire circle, so I decided to use a quarter of the circle to create an arch, which is a strong geometric shape.

The arch is very solid from the structural point of view and have been used by engineers/architects through the history of the civilization.

Of course, instead of ferris wheel capsules , we are going to place apartments with two floors to enhance the view.

The arch allows the apartments to become penthouse each one , since every single apartment will be placed in the tangent point of the circle.

Now, in order to reach each apartment I have decided to design the inner circle, which will support the train/elevator to carry the people.

So, for a 200 meter long segment of arch, we are going be able to place 14 penthouses.

The beauty is every single penthouse will have a 360 degrees view, both horizontal and vertical!

Every single penthouse will have the main bedroom in the second floor and the glass ceiling which is also the glass wall, can be open.

Another big advantage of the arch HAB is the small use of the land, allowing keep harmony with the existing ecosystem and improving it.

It is possible to access to the arch HAB through the superior or the inferior point, even so it is possible to access it through both ends.

For instance, in the case of hills with strong slopes, the arch will help not only to provide a high quality HAB but to stabilize the hill.

Even so, for high altitude mountains and natural parks the arch Hab setup is very convenient,since it would be possible to reach one end of the arch with a cable car system, therefore would be possible to protect even more the area.

Now from the construction point of view, the arch itself will serve as a framework, therefore the building process will be very neat.

I really enjoy the architecture and engineering on the edge concept, developed to design, create and build amazing structures on the hills.

Another big advantage of the arch HAB on the hill is the great benefits it is possible to obtain from a properly designed mechanical vent.

We will play with air in many ways, will allow it to produce a fresh and healthy breeze in the mornings and will use to cool the mechanical system.

The foundation system of the arch will provide an additional strength to the hill, since the potential sliding failing curve will be reduced.

Of course it will be possible to join two or more penthouses to create bigger environments, even so will be possible to develop a complete suburb using the arch system.

We should design a special solar panel system array, to protect the people for any potential strong reflections of light and heat.

It is possible to consider build the project under a fast track methodology, since will be possible to build the structure of each penthouse structure from the beginning, without requiring the completion of the foundation.

Depending of the location of course, it would possible to build the arch, starting in both ends as we usually do in tunneling.

Another beauty of the arch HAB project is the development of the maintenance for the structural system, which is going to be a fully automated system.

I don't pretend to unveil the details of the project here, but enough of them to inspire young engineers, architects and designers worldwide.

For instance, chances are you will love the way the arch HAB users will access to the beautiful ecosystem beneath them, out of this world for sure.

Depending on the project budget, some of the arch HABS will potentially be designed to carry you with your EV through the inner circle!

Although it is necessary to say, that the arch HAB will help to define the EV design and no the other way around.

Since I like to mix some old good ideas with the new and recently created concepts, the arch will be provided with a smart structure system.

I won't tell you at this point the how , but I will tell you the effect by using the smart structure system for the Arch HAB project.

When the external loads ( wind, earthquakes, rain, impact ) exceed the high range safety factor, the structure will respond in active way.

The smart structure system will allow to anticipate and act dynamically to the exceeding external forces.

The Arch HAB will be an habitat not only for humans but for the surrounding Flora and Fauna, trying to restore the harmony in a smart way!
